Hum Dekhenge / We will see
We will see—
surely, we too, we will see
that day that’s been promised to us—
when these high mountains
of tyranny and oppression
turn to dust and blow away—
and we underneath
will feel this earth under our feet
pulse, and tremble, and beat like a heart,
and the heads of the tyrants will be struck
with the crack of lightning
and the thunder—
when from this true touchstone earth
all falseness will be removed,
then we of true hearts, condemned by the zealots,
those guards of faith,
we will sit at that altar and decide—
when crowns will be thrown off
and thrones overturned.
We will see—
surely, we, too, we will see
that day that’s been promised to us—
and in that day the name of truth,
who is invisible and visible too,
who is the seer and the seen
will rise in one voice: I am truth!
as I am too,
and so are you.
Then all the people will decide, in truth,
as I am too,
and so are you.
One voice will rise: I am truth!
as I am too,
and so are you.
